On 10-11 October 2024, the global Geographical Indications community meet again in Geneva for the oriGIn 2024 Expert Meeting on GIs Protection and Enforcement. During two days of debate and networking, 180 participants from 35 countries discuss crucial topics related to GI protection and enforcement, from the WIPO Lisbon System and bilateral agreements to challenges in GI registration, conflict with trademarks, evocation beyond the EU, GI used as ingredients, issues related to competition law and online protection.

On September 22 - 24, 2024, the “2024 Trademark Administrators & Practitioners (TMAP) Meeting”, which is organized by the International Trademark Association (INTA), is held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

In September 2024, INTA Chief Policy Officer Heather Steinmeyer led a delegation to China to meet with local members and government officials. The delegation focused on IP policy, sharing the latest global IP laws and regulations and enhancing cooperation with the Chinese IP community.
