Wanhuida jointly organises seminar with AmCham South China

On 25 June 2026, the “Intellectual Property Empowering Enterprise Development Seminar”, which is jointly organized by The American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) and Wanhuida Intellectual Property, is convened in Guangzhou.

 

The event brings together advisor from the USPTO, senior legal executives from leading American companies and veteran practitioners to share frontline insights and practical strategies, aiming to help foreign companies operating in China navigate the evolving IP landscape – from trademark and patent protection to anti-unfair competition compliance.

 

Dr. Harley Seyedin, Chairman & President, AmCham South China delivers welcome remarks. In the keynote speech featuring “Review of Typical IP Cases of Foreign Enterprises in China: Comprehensive Response to Trademark, Patent and Unfair Competition Disputes”, Xie Minnan, Partner, Wanhuida Intellectual Property and Ren Yanfei, the firm’s Senior Associate, conduct a systematic review of landmark winning and losing cases in recent years, drawing practical lessons and offensive/defensive strategies and takeaways.

Jason Yao, the firm’s Partner and Management Committee member, moderates the ensuing roundtable discussion themed “Challenges and Countermeasures for Intellectual Property Protection in China: Multi-perspective Dialogue Among Officials, Enterprise Legal Counsel and Lawyers”. Representatives from Chinese and American companies and government agencies discuss current practices and future trends in IP dispute resolution. The panelists feature Dan Dan (Danielle) Zheng, Senior IPR Specialist, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), U.S. Consulate General, Guangzhou, Wang Yaqian, Head, Guangzhou Arbitration Court of Intellectual Property, Amelie Chen, Senior IP Legal Counsel, New Balance, as well as the firm’s Senior Associate Ren Yanfei.
