Wanhuida Partner speaks at 2025 IPO Annual Meeting

On September 7-9, 2025, the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) is held at Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, CA.

 

The event features keynote address by Daren Tang, Director General, World Intellectual Property Organization and Coke Stewart, Acting Under Secretary and Acting Director, US Patent & Trademark Office.

 

The IPO Annual Meeting offers a mix of educational programs featuring leaders in the IP industry, bringing together IP professionals from around the world to discuss strategies, trends, and best practices. This year’s program accentuates an array of hotly contested issues, covering “Copyright Cases and Controversies in the AI Litigation Landscape”, “Approaches to AI Standardization in the U.S. and Abroad”, “A Leap of (Bad) Faith: Dealing with Trademark Pirates”, “The Role of Patents in Pharmaceutical Innovation, Drug Pricing, and Market Exclusivity”, “Navigating the Complexities of AI Trade Secrets and Litigation”, “Counterfeits, Gray Market Goods, and Other Diversions”, among others.

 

On Monday September 8, the session themed “A Discussion of the Current Patent and Trade Secret Landscape in China and India”, is held. This session provides basic introduction on the legal framework of the patent and trade secret regime and explores the current enforcement landscape in China and India. Dr. S. Sam Li, Partner and Management Committee member, Wanhuida Intellectual Property, speaks on “The Chinese Legal System: Patent and Trade Secret”. The session is moderated by Michael D’Aurelio, Thomas Horstemeyer, LLP.
