On Dec. 11, 2009, the 21st ACPAA - JPAA Exchange Symposium jointly hosted by All-China Patent Agents Association (ACPAA) and Japan Patent Attorney Association (JPAA) was held in Shanghai. Patent attorneys from China and 20-plus representatives from JPAA delegation attended the Symposium.

Participants discussed on topics including patent application practices in China and Japan, Customs supervision of infringement goods as well as other hotspot issues. The Symposium helped promote understanding between the patent practitioners of both sides.

On Dec. 12, Deputy Director-General Jiang Tong from Mechanics Examination Department of China’s State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was invited as distinguished guests to give a speech on the interpretation of the latest amendment made to the “Guidelines for Examination”.

Wan Hui Da Patent Counsel Mr. Bai Huasheng attended the two-day Symposium.
