Mr. Lu Pushun to the position of “Senior Partner and Director of WHD North American Liaison Office”
Mr. Philippe Girard-Foley to the position of “Of Counsel”, and
Ms. Meng He to the position of “Senior Counsel”.
Mr. Lu is one of the first certified attorneys at law in China. He has since 1973 specialized in intellectual property and has developed over the 36 years the expertise in the field of trademark prosecution and arbitration practice. As a very well-renowned expert in the field, he has been frequently invited to advise the Chinese top legislature in the stipulation and revision of China’s “Trademark Law” and the “Trademark Review and Adjudication Rules”. He has also been granted the Special Status of High-level Expert by the Chinese Cabinet’s State Council to honour his particular achievements to the nation’s IPR sector. Mr. Lu’s role in WHD is to liaise with clients and represent the firm in Canada and the United States.
Mr. Girard-Foley is a French attorney at law admitted to the Paris bar in 1993. He has practiced intellectual property both in-house for P&G, Ford, IBM and Remy Cointreau, and as an attorney-at-law in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Brussels. His expertise in intellectual property also extends to other Asian countries, especially Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia. His extensive experience of multi-jurisdictional administrative and judicial proceedings will facilitate his role of acting as a liaison between WHD and clients in continental Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Ms. Meng He is the ex-Chief of the Examination Division II, China Trademark Office. Twenty-year service with the office has given her an in-depth understanding of the organization and helped her to develop a skill as to the registrability of trademarks. Her major expertise focuses on providing highly workable solutions for the marks of low registrability to enhance the chance of registration. She is also one of the major participants in stipulating the office’s internal examination manuals, from which she has gained an in-depth understanding of the legislating background. Ms. Meng will work as the Senior Internal Counsel for the firm’s trademark prosecution practice.
