On May 12, China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), French Industrial Property Office and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) co-sponsored the Sino-French Seminar on Innovation and Value Creation in Shanghai. Paul Ranjard, Wan Hui Da of Counsel, attended the seminar and made a keynote speech.

SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu and Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office Chen Zhixing attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Officials from the World Intellectual Property Organization, the European Union, France and China as well as representatives from well-known enterprises and IPR experts took part in the seminar.

With the theme of "Patent, innovation and market", 10 speakers from government departments, enterprises and legal service agencies gave thematic speeches on how to make, protect and promote innovation.

The seminar is aimed at promoting understanding and exchanges between enterprises of the two countries, encouraging innovation and intensifying the protection of intellectual property rights.
