The IPR Protection Department includes more than 10 full-time attorneys from Beijing Office, 6 attorneys from Guangzhou Office and 4 attorneys from Ningbo Office. The Investigation Departments of every office directly report to the IPR Protection Department.

The responsibilities of the attorneys include: file petitions and cooperate with enforcement agencies of all levels for investigation and raid of the infringers, communicate with the clients, and provide professional consultation.

Investigators in local offices and working stations are responsible for the infringement investigation, monitoring and intelligence collection.

Our Services：

The IPR Protection Department is responsible for investigation and evidence collection in IPR infringement cases, and for cooperation with enforcement agencies for the raids. It deals with all kinds of IPR infringement cases, especially fake trademarks, trademark infringement, patent infringement and copyright infringement.

1．Complaints to Industrial and Commercial Administrative authorities.

It deals with all kinds of trademark infringements and unfair competition practices, and work with different AIC branches such as Economic Investigation, Trademarks & Advertisement Branch, and Anti-Unfair Competition Branches for actions.

2．Complaints to Technical Supervision Bureaus

Counterfeit and fake products often mean inferior quality. Technical Supervision Bureaus are competent in raiding products made by the manufacturers using fake trademarks, fake company names and addresses.

3．Complaints to Public Security authorities

Considering that it is sometimes difficult to hand over cases from other enforcement agencies to public prosecutors for criminal prosecution, the IPR Protection Department makes direct liaisons with pubic security authorities of all levels in cases that might involve criminal responsibilities.

4．Work with the Customs in border control

The IPR Protection Department is responsible for recordation of the clients’ IPR with China Administration of Customs. It holds training sessions for the Customs inspectors where fake products might be exported, and collaborates with the local customs to inspect the products suspected of infringements. It also works together with the Litigation Department to pursue the exporters and manufacturers in civil lawsuits.

5．Complaints to Patent Administrative authorities

Administrative protection for patent rights is rather weak at present time, but it offers a relatively quick resolution if a case only involves small targets. The Department, in cooperation with the Patent Department, has successfully handled dozens of patent disputes with local IPOs.
