Xia Huan is an Attorney-at-law based in the firm's Hangzhou Office. She joined the firm in 2013.
Ms. Xia provides contentious and non-contentious services for intellectual property right holders both at home and abroad. Her practice mainly focuses on trademark administrative and civil lawsuits. She has abundant experience in eradicating malicious trademark registrations as well as in protection of non-traditional trademarks and well-known trademarks.

Ms. Xia’s recent work includes:
- Representing toothpaste manufacturer DARLIE in the trademark administrative lawsuits before China’s Supreme People’s Court, invalidating a series of malicious trademark registrations filed by the most obstinate squatter;
- Representing Nestle in the administrative lawsuit before China’s Supreme People’s Court, obtaining well-known trademark recognition and cross-class protection for Nestle’s maggi trademark in respect of sauce;
- Representing Wyeth in the trademark infringement case before Baiyun Court of Guangzhou, by leveraging online and offline evidence preservation measures and property preservation, successfully pressurized the defendant/trademark squatter in cancelling its various copycat trademarks and indemnifying the clients in the subsequent settlement negotiation;
- Representing Pierre Fabre Dermo Cosmetique in obtaining an unfair competition decision against an online seller of genuine Avène products that promotes business in a misleading way. The case is selected as the SPC’s 50 Exemplary IPR Cases and Top 10 IPR Judicial Protection Cases of Hunan Courts of 2015.
- Representing Wyeth in securing a favorable decision in a civil appeal proceeding against a long-term infringer Guangzhou Wyeth Baby Products Ltd. et al. The Zhejiang High Court upheld the decision rendered by the Hangzhou Intermediate Court, which found trademark infringement and unfair competition, ordered cessation, and granted punitive damages of RMB 30 million and reasonable legal expense of RMB 550,000. The case has been selected as SPC’s Top 10 IP Cases in 2021.
- Representing Gan & Lee, a leading Chinese insulin maker in the trademark administrative lawsuits before Beijing High Court, obtaining well-known trademark recognition for the trademark of the client’s insulin products and successfully invalidating the copycat mark registered by a rival insulin giant in China.
- Representing Dji, the world leader in drone technology in the trademark infringement and unfair competition case before Guangdong High Court, obtaining well-known trademark recognition for the Chinese mark of DJi.
Ms. Xia used to draft the Guidance on Case Management of Intellectual Property Civil Litigation in China in her capacity as a project researcher, as commissioned by Quality Brand Protection Working Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC).
