On May 7th, 2025, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA)Trademark Office Practices Committee (TOPC) China subcommittee hold a joint policy dialogue in Beijing.
The two-hour intensive discussion focuses on the latest changes to the non-use cancellation and coexistence practice. Members of the INTA TOPC China subcommittee and the CNIPA frontline officials and examiners have pragmatic and insightful discussion over the raised evidentiary bar over cancellation actions and its potential ramifications over brand owners/practitioners. The attendees also look into the findings of a survey conducted by AIPPI China over the efficacy of letter of consent in trademark matters.
