Wanhuida jointly organizes high-level symposium in Hangzhou

On Friday October 18, 2024, under the auspices of Hangzhou High-Tech Zone (Binjiang) Management Committee and the Binjiang People’s Government of Hangzhou, the “Global Patent Portfolio and Strategy: Symposium on Intellectual Property Protection for Innovations under the Cross-border context” is held in Hangzhou.




The symposium, which is hosted by the Hangzhou High-Tech Zone (Binjiang) and Hangzhou High-Tech Zone (Binjiang) Administration for Market Regulation (AMR), is jointly organized by Wanhuida Intellectual Property and its strategic partner Beijing JUSTRA Intellectual Property Center (JUSTRA).

The symposium features informative presentations and thought-provoking discussions offered by veteran practitioners from the United States, China, EU and Japan. Mr. Yuezhong Feng, Partner of Crowell & Moring LLP, US, speaks on “U.S. District Court Litigation and Section 337 Investigations: Recent Trends”. Xie Minnan, Partner of Wanhuida Intellectual Property, China, shares insights on “Securing Patents Overseas and Avoiding Infringement Risks”. Mr. Nicolas Delorme, Partner of Germain & Maureau, France, delves into the “Recent Development and Case Laws of Unitary Patent System and Unified Patent Court in Europe”. Ms. ITO Takako, Associates of TMI Associates, Japan, gives the audience an introduction on “Japan’s Special Patent Regime and Dispute Resolution Mechanism”.

The event is concluded with a Q&A session and the closing remarks by Dr. Wang Ze, Vice President of think tank JUSTRA, China.

The event offers a forum for the participants to share best practices in building global patent portfolio and formulating IP enforcement strategy under the cross-border context. It attracts over 100 attendees including representatives from local businesses, academia and IP law firms.
